Steve was born in a little town called Wondai in Queensland in 1949 and at the age of 1, after the death of his dad, moved back to the family home with his mother and brother at Normanhurst. Steve for the past 28 years has lived in Westleigh and works in partnership with his wife in a small typesetting and printing business which he runs from home. In February 2001 Council investigated his work and were satified that it came under the guide lines of home occupation. He is a member of Cherrybrook Victory Christian Church, Westleigh Progress Association,
Hornsby District Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc. and Asquith Leagues Club.
Steve became interested in running for Council while he was supporting Nick in his stand against brothels. Steve has also on several occasions, involved himself in local issues, working hard with residents and Council for the betterment of the community and believes it is time to be involved with Council at a higher level.
Steve was elected to Council on March 2004 and re-elected September 2008 for a

second term to continue the effort of working hard for the residents of Hornsby Shire.
With Nick Berman again as Mayor, Hornsby Council will continue to have effective leadership. Some of the issues that concern Steve are.... The quarry, resolving the issues surrounding it's purchase and best use for the residents of our great Shire, Employment strategy, Housing strategy, Security in the mall, Town planning, medium density and high rise development, Swimming pool for Berowra, Greater utilization of park land, Liaison with residents, Sound financial management of Council funds, Rain water harvesting, to name a few.
A true Councillor is one who listens to both sides, separates the facts from the fiction and then works on the answer for the betterment of the Shire they represent, not political parties. Steve listens and works for the best solutions, and you can only do that if you are truly Independent when it comes to involvement with Local Government.
