This site is updated frequently to keep you informed regarding my work on your behalf as a Councillor for Hornsby Shire Council. To the Hornsby Shire Council official website, please click here.

To the people of the Hornsby Shire, my primary responsibility lies in representing to the best of my ability your concerns and aspirations in Council meetings.

Two of my interests is water conservation and the Hornsby Quarry. A further interest is climate change

My effort to help in water conservation and quick reference to water restrictions.

As for the Quarry, I believe that the Council acted properly and in the best interest of the Shire. I believe that once Council had notice served on it, under 17.5 of the HSLEP Council was forced to acquire the Quarry also I believe that Council acted on the legal advice given and that legal advice has since been proven to be correct. it has also been brought to my attention that some people have been claiming CSR was wanting to fill the Quarry and then give the Quarry to Council, please read the information in the link The CSR Offer

Hornsby Council has since lobbied the Government to have the laws amended and I believe the result of this is that only a private person who is in financial difficulty and in ownership of land zoned open space may serve notice on Council to acquire their land.

Leaders in sustainability

In recognition of Hornsby Shire Council's environmental achievements over a number of years, Mayor Nick Berman was elected to the executive committee of the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives - one of two representatives from Australia. Council is looking to do more in relation to sustainability which will help with the efficient delivery of council services and facilities- even during periods of drought
