Is the F3 tunnel link short-sighted?
"All eyes are on which tunnel option will be best for our community" ( Cr McMurdo)
I did not realise that Dangar Island was between Pearces Cnr and Pennant Hills, (joke) however, I do agree with Wendy when it comes to reducing the congestion on our local roads, the authorities seem to have been lacking in thought for the future of all forms of transport.
The real point is that the State Government of today has not addressed the problems of transport in a sensible manor since it has been in power
This is evident in the lack of rail links to fast growing areas like Castle Hill, Dural and beyond. Also, I believe the previous Government had plans and were in the process of purchasing land for a major Sydney by-pass, what happend to it?
The residents in this community, I believe, have had enough of the snail pace bumper to bumper traffic and would appreciate a quieter more sustainable road system into the future. The tunnel will help, that is by removing the through traffic, especially trucks, from the main local roads creating shorter travel times that will be appreciated by all (less polution making time per vehicle)
I believe that implementing a better rail system to solve all problems is very short sighted
and to think that implementing a better road system, to solve all problems is also very short sighted
We need both and at a high level to even come close to solving this problem
Even decentralization of the commercial and industrial sector will not solve all problems, it would help, but, is also very short sighted without better roads and rail systems worked together to compliment one another.
Till then, we will always have problems |
